Memorial Day Ceremony

The City of Carmel will hold their annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Friday, May 23rd at 9 am.

The ceremony is to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.  The public is invited to attend.  Light refreshments will be provided.

The ceremony will be held at the Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial Plaza with the Tarkington Theater as the rain location.

The ceremony will include remarks by City Attorney Douglas Hancy and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Clay Township Trustee, Doug Callahan with students from Midwest Academy in Carmel.  The keynote speaker will be Mr Robert Spanogle, National adjutant of the American Legion for 26 ears of his 36 years on staff of the American Legion.

Members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will participate in a flag raising ceremony and all attending will have the opportunity to place flowers at the Memorial to commemorate all military veterans.
