Japanese Guest for Sister City celebration

April 28th, 9 am, at the Japanese Garden, behind Carmel City Hall, there will be a celebration of the 20th anniversary of sister Cities affiliation with Carmel and Kawachinagano.  A ceremonial tree planting and gift exchange will take place.

The public is invited, Mayor Jim Brainard will greet four officials with the Kawachinagano International Friendship Association.

Over the years there has been cultural exchanges designed to enlighten the minds of students and open the doors of friendship among adults, business leaders and government officials.

Kawachinagano City is in the Osaka Prefecture of Japan, near Osaka City.  It has a population of 110,000, and is a suburban community at the foothills of a mountain range, and features some small industries in the town.
