Carmel Symphony Orchestra Performs Mendelssohn & Tchaikovsky

The season opening performance begins with Beethoven's Leonore Overture No3 and Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, featuring Stephen Kim.  Tchaikovsky's dramatic and beautiful Fifth Symphone concludes this concert.

"The Carmel Symphony Plays with such commitment from the heart," says Dr. David Bowden, Artistic Directory.  "We are delighted to offer music for the soul - great masterworks, outstanding guest artists, and intriguing new music - all performed with emotion and vitality."

New for 2011-12, the Carmel Symphony is proud to present a pre-concert conversation series called Music Matters. Patrons will be able to relax, mingle, order a drink, and discover interesting perspectives on the composers and their music.  In the free event hosted throughout the season, speakers will range from Artistic Directory David Bowden and guest artsits to orchestra musicians and Carmel Symphony staff.  The first Music Matters at the Palladium begins at 6:45 pm on October 1, preceding the Mendelssohn & Tchaikovsky concert.
